Dear FXStreet user,
Welcome to the New FXStreet.
Two years ago we started a long journey that led us to what we call today the 3.0 version of FXStreet. We have a very talented team of journalists, analysts, marketing professionals, designers and IT experts and a very demanding audience. We did a massive redesign to keep delivering the best service to our 6.5 million yearly visitors of our English site. We knew that we had to change, and we had to get everyone in the company involved, to establish objectives and analyze how our audience related to us. We changed many things along the way and we know that we still have a long road to go as FXStreet will continue improving and evolving. At FXStreet we’re always looking for the best ways to offer information from the greatest traders and professionals.
Today we’re excited to present you “Macro Scan“, a daily opinion piece written by Ross Burland, Editor and Analyst at FXstreet, where he analyzes and gives his opinion on macroeconomic data and news. FXStreet will celebrate in a few days the 10th anniversary of its “Trade NFP Live” webinar in collaboration with Wayne McDonell. Wayne didn’t miss a single data release in all these years, he’s been there every first Friday of the month, without interruption, for a 3-hour webinar. He was there well before the financial crisis exploded, he covered the dramatic destruction of 699 k jobs in April 2009 and the recovery one year later. He was there when the flu or technical difficulties made things challenging. And he will be there to celebrate the 120th edition, on May 6th, 2016.
We took this anniversary opportunity to ask him a few questions! Continue reading Non-Farm Payrolls 10th anniversary: “Everyone on the planet is impacted by NFP and thus the market will move” – Wayne McDonell

After talking with members of the Marketing, Content and Overseas teams, it was time to talk with one of the guys of our IT department! A cheerful person with a strong Cuban accent, Alain has been with us since August 2014. He explains us what working at FXStreet is for him, but also why he came to live in Barcelona or how the Barça soccer team is doing recently. Meet Alain, one of the six software developers of the leading Forex information website.

How does a day in the life of an IT guy at FXStreet look?
Every day at 9h30 am, we hold a Stand-up meeting in the IT department: each staff member explains what he’s been working on, what problems he encountered in his tasks and what he will do today. This is a short meeting we do in the middle of the IT space in the office, and as its name implies, we all remain standing to make it more agile.
The best part is that if someone is late at the meeting, he has to bring donuts to the whole team. I hope someone will be late every day, but, to be honest, I’m the one who has to pay for the round most of the time 😉 Continue reading Meet Alain, Software Architecte at FXStreet
Many of you experienced it yesterday: we tested the launch of FXStreet’s new website and it was up for a few hours in the European morning, though slow and unstable. We managed to relaunch it in a steady environment during the American morning, but then around 1 GMT last night the site crashed. That’s when we decided to revert back to the “old” FXStreet site because we are committed to providing the best service to help traders and we were not prepared to give up now.
We want to apologize for a unstable day to all of you who experienced it when surfing FXStreet yesterday, though we are pretty sure you understand these kinds of hiccups are almost always part of improvement and launch processes.
We want to thank you for your patience and for getting in touch with us to help us improve. This test launch and the previous beta site experiment have been extremely valuable in terms of feedbacks: we collected the opinions and bugs alerts from around 2300 users in the last three weeks. It’s a mine of information that we will thoroughly analyze and take into account. Continue reading The #NewFXstreet will be here soon
