Trader of the Year 2013: Registration for the contest is open!

We’re excited to announce that traders can register for the 6th edition of the Trader of the Year contest, a  competition open to all individuals who are minimum 18 years old at the time of the contest start, excluding residents of the US.  As last year, the contest will be conducted on DEMO accounts only. All contestants will start with USD 5,000 of virtual funds in their trading accounts and with a leverage of 1:100. AFB FX sponsors the competition and the winner will be the contestant with the highest Account Equity.

7 year anniversary for our NFP webinar!

NFP webinar 84th84 editions in a row. 84 months. 7 years. It’s quite an achievement and we are proud of it: Wayne McDonell from FxBootcamp has been presenting the “Trade Non-Farm Payrolls LIVE” on FXstreet.com since May 2006… back at the time where our live sessions were chat sessions… everyone typing, the speaker and the attendees. Gonçalo Moreira about bitcoins on TV3

tv3logoAs we already explained in an earlier post, the public Catalan television channel, TV3, was in our office in Barcelona last week to interview our Analyst Gonçalo Moreira, about Bitcoins and the recent heavy fluctuation episodes the digital currency has experienced. Catalan Television at FXstreet.com

Today journalists from TV3, the public Catalan television channel, came to FXstreet.com to interview our Analyst Gonçalo Moreira, CMT. The topic of the interview was, again, Bitcoins… which seems to be a very trendy topic and media definitly want to hear what we think about it (Gus Farrow was featured in an article in La Vanguardia 10 days ago).

George Soros’s Conference in Barcelona

George SorosYesterday evening, the famous Hungarian-American business magnate, investor and philanthropist George Soros was in Barcelona to announce the opening of an Open Society Foundation in the city. Being the home city of FXstreet.com offices are located, we went to the CCCB, where it was hosted, to hear what Soros had to say about one of the hottest topic of the economic news nowadays. The conference was called “The Crisis and the Future of an Open Society in Europe” that Soros shared during a bit more than one hour and a half.

Gus Farrow, Analyst and Editor at FXstreet.com, was there and wrote a review of the thoughts Soros shared with the audience.
