Last Monday our staff was invited to a surprise event to celebrate the successful launch of the redesign of FXStreet. We all left the office at 12 pm and took a bus to… we had no idea where! After a bit less than an hour, we arrived at a restaurant on the beach with beautiful terraces. We were welcomed with drinks. Very pleasant moment under the sun. Then we had lunch in the restaurant (with sea view of course!)… whose dessert trolley impressed everyone – have a look at the pics! Behind the scenes of the New FXStreet redesign
Internally, we call it “3.0”. Externally, it’s the #NewFXStreet. And after a few hiccups and delays in the release, it’s here!
How it all got started
The first meeting that led to our website redesign was a brainstorming about how FXStreet should evolve and what should be improved. It was in February 2014. We made a big list that is still pinned on a door in our main meeting room.
This list of needs and goals was so long and requested so many profound changes that the only way to fulfil them was to do a total “reset” by using a new backend and frontend structure for FXStreet. We needed to be more flexible and our systems were not offering this necessary freedom for our team to innovate, run continuous tests and swiftly adapt to new challenges.
That’s when the decision was taken to make a profound reform that would be the version 3.0 of our website. Continue reading Behind the scenes of the New FXStreet redesign

A cheerful person with a strong Cuban accent, Alain has been with us since August 2014. How does a day in the life of an IT guy at FXStreet look?
Every day at 9h30 am, we hold a Stand-up meeting in the IT department: each staff member explains what he’s been working on, what problems he encountered in his tasks and what he will do today. This is a short meeting we do in the middle of the IT space in the office, and as its name implies, we all remain standing to make it more agile.
The best part is that if someone is late at the meeting, he has to bring donuts to the whole team. I hope someone will be late every day, but, to be honest, I’m the one who has to pay for the round most of the time 😉 Continue reading Meet Alain, Software Architecte at FXStreet

Barcelona Magic Line: a walking challenge for the FXStreet team
We’re proud of our team! Well, today in particular proud of 6 of them who did a fundraising walk yesterday in Barcelona.
When our President Francesc Riverola sent an email to our team to propose the “Magic Line” walking challenge, we have to be honest, answers were not massive. The deal? For every kilometer walked by one team member, FXStreet would donate 5€ to the organizer of the event, Sant Joan de Deu Hospital – one of the leading medical centers in Europe for childhood and adolescence working to help the most vulnerable people.
A few days before the walk, motivated by our CTO Javi, a team of 6 people did cheer up to go and make the 30km walk around the city and its montain range, “el parque de Colleserola”: Javi, Gerard, Felipe, Adrià, Chus and Jordi. FXStreet’s Ping Pong Tournament
“Trofeu Conde de Riverola“, it’s how our Head of Content, Pere Monguió, called the Ping Pong Tournament that he organized in our office in the last weeks – a humoristic reference to “Trofeo Conde de Godó”, a famous Tennis tournament now called “Barcelona Open”… changing “Godó” for “Riverola”, the surname of the founder of FXStreet, Francesc Riverola 😉
