Today we are more than happy to present you one of our team members, based at the Barcelona office. Meet Dani, who is responsible of the individual employee coaching service of the company and its internal mediation service.
Dani at work
What is your role at FXStreet?
My role at FXStreet is to take care of the company’s job conditions and work environment and I like my job! I think our team members enjoy working in a good environment at FXStreet, so it’s not difficult for me to manage it. Obviously sometimes some problems may arise but our employees are professional people, so usually those problems are solved quite fast… event if not always of course.
What do you like best about your job?
The best is to work with the purpose to contribute to building a company where people are comfortable working and a company that is able to reach and achieve its goals satisfying its customers needs. It may sound too formal or institutional but I think that this is my mission and I enjoy working on it. Besides that, I really enjoy helping people to solve their problems and disputes. And let me tell you something… the more difficult the situation is, the more I enjoy it.
What do you like least about your job?
Well you know, programmers work with their computers, journalists with market information and news and I work with people, and sometimes people are unpredictable and it makes my work more challenging but at the same time tougher and more exhausting… but that’s what I have chosen when I decided to work as a psychologist.
If you were not an HR Manager, what would you like to do for a living?
I would like to work as a musician or a writer, and why not, also as a social psychologist researcher… or in any other thing that catches my interest because I hate getting bored. Another option would be living in a small village up in the mountains working as an electrician or in some other technical field that would not be related with human being…. Just to take a rest for a while 🙂
Animated gifs are often used in internal emails among collaborators at FXStreet… share with us a gif that you particularly like!
I never send animated gifs. Even though I enjoy when someone sends one to me, I prefer to spend my time doing other things than looking for some gif on the Internet. But today I will make an exception… Here it is!
We almost all put our headphones on when working here at the office. What do you usually listen to?
Uh… I love music, but working with headphones is annoying for me because I get focused on what I’m listening instead of focusing on what I’m doing. I admit that this is my own weakness. Anyway, I love Baroque music, jazz, electronic music from the 70´s and the 80´s and also flamenco music, British pop music, rock, and why not, country music… In general I like all types of music that are well composed and arranged.
Your favorite bands at the moment?
I don’t have any particular “Band of the moment”. I usually listen to bands with long artistic careers because I believe that it’s when they are grown up that musicians create real good music.
Any weird habit you have when working?
Talking to myself aloud and sometimes growling aloud… and smoking in our patio because fortunately these days smoking is becoming a weird habit.
What are the software, websites or tools you mostly use at work? What for?
Basically MS Office and Google tools. I use them to do my “writing” tasks” but mostly my main tasks are done in “analogical fashion” without any computer around.

What do you typically do when you get out of the office?
When I get out of the office I go to another place to keep on working and when I finish all my work I usually play music or I go to a bar to drink a beer while I read a book.
You’ve just said you play music… what do you play and what are your other hobbies?
Yes, I play piano and synthesizers, but I also enjoy reading, listening to music, spending or “investing” time with my girlfriend, taking a walk with my dog, hiking, restoring furniture, doing some home improvements and taking care of my dear plants and flowers.
Please, share a picture of your dog!
This is my dog Pruna, a Catalan shepherd!
You’ve mentioned many hobbies, but nothing about sport. Do you practice some?
Just walking and “beer weightlifting” 😉 Honestly I don’t like sports. If we could split hobby activities into two groups: the exoteric (external) and the esoteric (internals), we could say that my hobbies mainly belong to the second group.
What are your holiday plans in the upcoming months?
I don’t know yet, I don’t plan my vacations in advance.
What are your favorite websites? Do not say FXStreet 😉
FXStreet 🙂 Besides that, Google, Youtube and some other sites about musical instruments or about books, but if I have to be honest they are not “favorite” to me… they are just tools.
What is the last movie you’ve watched? Would you recommend it?
I rarely go to the movies, so I can’t recommend you any new film…. I don’t know what to tell you besides that I like movies that make me think and feel.
Do you support Barça? If not, dare to say which football team you support… if any!
No, I don’t support any football team because I don’t like football and actually I don’t care at all about it. And I would even tell you that sometimes living in a “football city” as Barcelona is a little annoying to me because everybody speaks about the same topic, football, and some people´s mood even depends on what his football team has done the night before…
