ECONOMIC EVENTS

US Nonfarm Payrolls retained the top one of most viewed reports for another year, despite the employment sector in the US hitting its best year since the 2008 crisis. The incredible job numbers helped improve the mood in the markets despite inflation not really showing its head.

Slowly growing inflation, with most economies picking up some very mild steam this year, has given Central Banks some air. Only UK citizens are starting to feel some inflationary pressures.

Another surprise this year came by the hand of oil. OPEC and the biggest oil-producing economies reached an agreement that has seen oil build on last year’s recovery to probably close the year around $65.
